Saturn Roman God Of Time

Saturn is the god of Time and his weapon is the scythe. He is known as Old Father Time.

Saturn reigned over the gods prior to Jupiter. Jupiter, Neptune and Pluto are his children.



They symbolize Air, Water and Death, the 3 things that Time is unable to kill.

The Romans has a mid winter celebration in honor of Saturn, referred to as Saturnalia. It lasts 7 days, and there is much merrymaking. Public business is halted and schools are closed.:)
