It is a sizable beast from Aboriginal myths, it is believed to prowl in swampy areas, billabongs, creeks and rivers.
The origin of the term bunyip is traced to the Wemba~Wemba or from the Wergaia dialect of the Aboriginal people of South~Eastern Australia.
However, the bunyip seems to have made to be a part of standard Aboriginal beliefs and tales all throughout Australia.
